The Old Courthouse was the site of the first two trials of the pivotal Dred Scott case in 1847 and 1850.

Soulard Farmers Market ~ The Oldest Farmers Market In Missouri ~ Established 1779

Julia Soulard, donated and established land, for the purpose of a public market. As later stipulated in her will, two city blocks were given to the City of St. Louis for what is yet known as Soulard Market.
